Fusion Students appointed Helios as the fire safety engineers for the development of a 9 storey student accommodation block featuring a cinema, basketball court, karaoke rooms and a cocktail bar alongside a 6 storey residential building in Nottingham. The student accommodation comprised of a mixture of cluster flats, studios and twodios with extended common corridor travel distances justified with the provision of the mechanical smoke ventilation system.

The Propeller Quarter at Brabazon (1,514 bed student accommodation)
Helios are the fire safety engineers for The Propeller Quarter – the purpose-built student accommodation by YTL Developments. Located at Brabazon – the thriving new town for North Bristol – these four, 8 storey mansion style blocks feature a mixture of studios and cluster flats alongside a gym, gaming suite and karaoke room. Currently at Stage 5 (as of December 2025) Helios have worked on the project since Stage 1 and will be continuing to work on the project through to completion.

Lordship Lane, London
Helios were engaged by Fusion Students as the fire safety engineers for the re-development of a former Mecca Bingo site in Wood Green into four new residential blocks. The largest block features over 600 student bedrooms with social and amenity areas and commercial units to the ground floor. There are also two 6 storey blocks of flats and a block of dwellings that will provide affordable housing. Helios are involved from Stages 2 to 6 and the student accommodation block is set to go through the full gateway process with the BSR.
